Interesting patients／患者さんとの接し方

When working in the hospital, sometimes patients feel lonely and want
to talk to you about their lives or past experiences.

As nurses’ assistants we hear a lot of different things, sometimes very interesting.

One time I met a lady that visited my hometown of Dakar 3 times!
She could even speak some words of Wolof, my native language.
Lately I met an ex-professional Japanese basketball player.

I forgot his name but he was telling me about his playing days when he was younger.

As I play basketball as well it was a very interesting conversation, as he was telling me how the game has changed and how things are way different from back then.

Every day is a new experience in the hospital, some patients are very interesting and very happy, and make your day brighter and can teach you a few interesting things of life and Japan in general.

病院での勤務の際に、患者さんたちとお話する機会があり、自分の人生や過去について話をする事がありました。

お話をする中で面白いお話を聞く時もあります。
例えばある日、私の故郷であるセネガルの首都ダカールに3回も行った事がある患者さんに出会いました。
しかも彼女は私の母国語であるウォロフ語も喋れました。

そして、日本人のバスケットボール選手に出会いました。
名前は忘れましたが彼は自分の若い頃に行ったパフォーマンスの話をしてくれましたし、どうやってゲームが変わってきたのか、そして昔と比べて何が違うのかを語っている時には、まるでバスケットボールをしているような感じで対話ができて楽しかったです。

病院での毎日が新しい経験で、特に、面白く楽しいお話ができる患者さんたちは色んな事を教えてくれます。

これからも病院で、患者さんと楽しく接して、少しでも和んでいけるように心がけたいと思います。
